daily purchase drawings

these beautiful little drawings by kate bingaman burt document her every purchase (obsessive cosumption is her book about this project). documenting someone's life through the things they buy is such a telling thing. maybe a little scary for those of us who partake in retail therapy more often than we'd like to admit. here's a few of my favorites.

head case

I am fan of Paul Graves. His work always makes me pause- with the whimsy, the salesmanship...
And he just sent me this image of something he's making for a client- out of 2 kilos of 24k gold... stay tuned. Who wouldn't love to have their portrait taken/made as a balloon. Lucky Ziggy Stardust!

this morning's finds

i found a few fun things this morning worthy of sharing. Most come from Print and Pattern. I'm in the mood to share illustrations today :) it's a little different from what i usually post, but i wanted to mix it up. and i'm starting to rework some illustrations to show to my editor friend at Little, Brown!
